HOW IT WORKS

From request to sellable inventory in five steps

Send the pickup request

Factory address, when the goods are ready, rough cargo specs.

Get a quote and a pickup date

Priced on chargeable weight, origin, and the speed you pick. Approve it and we book the truck with your factory. You get a confirmed date and a tracking contact.

We collect and consolidate

Our trucking partner picks up at the factory, consolidates if needed, and runs domestically.

Goods land and go live

Cargo checks into our Shenzhen fulfillment center within hours of arrival. Sellable the same day it lands.

The next restock is on us

Same factory, same route? We go to them directly, PO after PO. You don't re-book anything. A new factory or pickup point takes one more request.

White fluffy cloud with irregular edges on a transparent background.

The first mile challenge

Why the first mile matters for brands

Three vendors between your factory and your warehouse. Nobody accountable end to end.

Additional work that never ends

Someone on your team books a truck every time a PO drops. Or your supplier "just handles it," which means you don't know what it cost or when it actually moved. Either way, it's hours a week that don't grow the brand.

You've paid for it and still can't sell it

The gap between the factory finishing your order and the inventory going live is not in your control or on your timelines

How Factory Pickups Helps

Get your team's time back

Tell us about a factory once. We work with them directly on every pickup after that. No truck PO to chase. No "someone's handling it" until something breaks.

Your first request

Two minutes. Factory address, ready date, rough specs.

Every restock after that

Happens without you. We go straight to your factory, PO after PO.

New factory or pickup point?

One new request. Then it's hands-off again.

What customers say

"Portless made onboarding seamless. They built around our print-on-demand workflow, with daily pickups, sensible rates, and a team that solved problems with us from day one."

Frequently asked questions

The details before you ask

Who can use Factory Pickup?

Portless fulfillment merchants only. The routing terminates at our warehouse, so pickup is included as part of your Portless setup. If you're evaluating fulfillment, Factory Pickup is one more thing you get when you switch.

What is chargeable weight, and how do you calculate it?

Chargeable weight is the greater of your shipment's actual weight and its volumetric weight. Volumetric weight = L × W × H (cm) ÷ 6,000 — the same standard carriers use, so there's no daylight between our quote and theirs. Every quote breaks it out: chargeable weight × origin band × service speed.

Which Chinese provinces do you cover?

25 provinces at launch — Fujian, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Anhui, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Henan, Guizhou, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Shandong, Hainan, Yunnan, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Xinjiang. Remote sub-regions (Sichuan Remote, Zhejiang East) carry a surcharge, flagged in your quote before you approve.

What are the service speeds?

Three: 24hr air (fastest), 48hr air + truck (balanced), 72hr truck (cost-efficient). You pick per shipment based on urgency. Rates aren't published — you'll see a transparent quote in one business day when you request a pickup.
Q05

How fast can I expect inventory to be sellable?

Truck at the factory within 1 day of quote approval. Delivered into the Portless fulfillment center in 1–3 days inland, depending on origin. Checked into inventory within hours of arrival — sellable the same day they land.

What's the difference between Factory Pickup and a freight forwarder?

A forwarder ends the leg at a port or a warehouse dock. Factory Pickup ends it inside our fulfillment center, in inventory, ready to sell. Same team as your fulfillment — one chain of custody, one point of accountability.
